The Annoying Orange panel kicked off with a sizzle reel revealing upcoming guest stars Tim Curry, Jeffery Tambor, Billy Dee Williams, Felicia Day, Jane Lynch, Tom Kenny, and Danny Trejo.

From there, moderator John DiMaggio asked the tough questions to panelists Dane Boedigheimer (Orange, Pear, Marshmellow), Toby Turner (Nerville), Justine Ezarik (Passion Fruit), and producers Tom Sheppard and Gary Binkow.
DiMaggio – Why orange?
Boedigheimer – It was going to be an apple. He liked the alliteration of annoying apple, but apple just didn’t feel right so it became orange.
DiMaggio – Will Orange and Passion Fruit ever make sweet nectarine juice together?
Ezarik – Orange is sweet and fun, but he just doesn’t get it.
DiMaggio – How is the TV show different from the web series?
Boedigheimer – The web show is all about quick banter between characters.
With the TV show we can develop the characters, and take them on grand adventures. It’s so condensed on the web.
DiMaggio – Are there things you can do on the web not on TV?
Boedigheimer – Yes, we have a little more freedom on the web, but on TV it’s all about finding new an inventive ways to slice up, chop up, smash characters. Because there’s an expectation that that’s going to happen.
DiMaggio – Is it a problem that the characters are limbless?
Boedigheimer – Really, no. They basically have invisible limbs. If we need them to hold a sword it’s just there. It’s not really a limitation.
DiMaggio – Who have you had on the show?
Boedigheimer – Jane Lynch, Tony Hawk, Tim Curry, Eddie Izzard. It’s so surreal to be in the recording studio with these guys you’ve seen in movies for years.
JD – Dane, how many characters do you play?
Boedigheimer – Too many! Orange, Pear, Little Apple, Marshmallow, Squash, and a bunch of minor characters on the show.
The panel ended with a special Con-exclusive episode call “Fruit-vengers,” in which Orange and his buddies get superpowers, and proceed to abuse them immediately.
