Level Up Fan Q&A

Level Up Executive Producer Peter Murrieta moderated series stars Gaelan Connell (Wyatt), Connor del Rio (Dante), Jessie T. Usher (Lyle), Aimee Carerro (Angie), Lonny Ross (Max Ross), and executive producers David Schneiderman and Derek Guiley answered fan questions during a panel and Q&A session at San Diego Comic-Con 2012.

Connor dressed up as a Skunk Bear to kick off the Q&A session with the most important questions.

What is the best part of working with Connor de Rio?

Guiley: His willingness to put on masks that smell like weird chocolate.

Usher: It’s not like Connor himself doesn’t smell like weird chocolate all the time.

On a 1 to 15 scale how awesome is Connor del Rio?

[Panel answered in unison]

All: All of the above.

Del Rio ditched the Skunk Bear head and rejoined the panel.

What is your game of choice?

Usher: I think I speak for everyone when I say Halo is the official game of our show.

Connell: Ask us what we’re doing tonight.

What are you guys doing tonight?

[The guys stand up and perform a choreographed dance as they answer.]

Halo Reach. Tonight. All night. No sleep.

 

Will anything ever happen between Wyatt and Angie?

[Connor provides romantic background music.]

Connell: I don’t want to put words in the writers’ mouths but Wangie.

What other video games would like to mix it up with?

Carerro: Mario Kart 64!!

Lyle: Tomb Raider. I’d love to see Lara Croft running around.

Carerro: It helps that she looks a lot like Angelina Jolie.

Del Rio: Star Fox. He’s got a cool spaceship and he’s a talking fox!! What else could you want?

Guiley: Dead or Alive Extreme Volleyball

What does Tulta Minulle mean?

Guiley: I think it means lots of things to lots of people.

Del Rio: That’s not an answer.

Guiley: It’s a Finnish phrase. I think it translates to “Fire eggs.” But it sounds really great when you scream it.

What’s Dante’s favorite candy?

Del Rio: Red vine licorice.

How do you come up with the creatures?

Schneiderman: We reference a lot of video games and then we try to put our Level Up spin on it.

Connell: They also write about our actual fears. Aimee is really afraid of frogs. Connor is really afraid of heights. And I’m really afraid of women so… [laughs].

What weapon would you use in the real world?

Carerro: I’d use the bicyclops glasses. And I’d use them to get things that I wanted.

Del Rio: The Thunder Pole because I’ve always wanted to be in Harry Potter.

Why didn’t you train the mini-dragon to help you fight other leaks?

Del Rio: We have one rule: All leaks go back to the game.
