DC Nation Fan Q&A

Jeff Prezenkowski, Mitch Swanson, Glenn Murakami, Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic from DC Comics and Warner Animation were on hand to answer fan questions about current and upcoming DC Nation shows at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Here’s what they had to say!

Will we see Terry McGinnis or anything from the Batman Beyond series in DC Nation?
We love that series and DC Nation would be a great place to explore it.

Why do you want to go a new direction with Teen Titans?
We get to try a lot of new things in DC Nation shorts and people responded well to these characters in funny situations, so we created a series.

Will we see DC Nation shorts collected on DVD?
Most of the clips are online at the Cartoon Network website.

What role will Saint Walker play in the future of Green Lantern?
There are interesting things he needs to be part of, so he will be back.

Will we see more of Zatanna in Young Justice?
Yes.

What will we see from Megan [on Young Justice]? Will she become darker?
Interesting things are coming for Ms. Martian.

Will Teen Titans Go feature homages or Easter eggs from the original Teen Titans series?
Go features the same characters and their interactions from the original. If you love those characters, you will love this.

Will new characters be added to Teen Titans Go?
We will try and bring in characters from original series and maybe bring in others.

Are you going introduce heroes like the Creeper or other bizarre heroes we have not heard of?
We are starting out with lots of villains who have not been seen in animation before. But [new] heroes will appear eventually.

Since both Beware the Batman and Green Lantern are done in CGI, could we ever see the shows cross over?
No plans right now. We’re more focused on building our world. DC Nation is a cool place to explore a wide variety of characters and styles. But all these different directions don’t necessarily meet.

In the series finale of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, we saw a CGI clip starring Batgirl. Will she be in Beware the Batman?
The Batgirl clip seen in Brave and the Bold was actually created for another project. We decided to use it for the finale because it looked really cool.

Will any of the Robins show up in Beware the Batman?
Katana fills the Robin role. We learn about Katana’s connection to Bruce and Alfred. She’s not a sidekick. She’s more of an equal to Batman, but doesn’t have his brain and ability to solve crimes.
